According to The Guardian, Ebola outbreak alarms Uganda as many are sent to quarantine to avoid the outbreak of the haemorrhagic fever.

Last Wednesday, health officials confirmed the outbreak in a district that lies 40 miles from the Ugandan capital, Kampala. Last month, five people were killed of Marburg, another haemorrhagic disease quite similar to Ebola.

Earlier July and August, 16 people died due to the outbreak of Ebola of Congo-strain virus. Uganda declared free from the outbreak just last month. However, officials are intrigued with the outbreak, which is different from the Congo-strain; the new disease carries the Sudan -strain of virus.

"The ministry of health once again calls upon the public to stay calm as all possible measures are being undertaken to control the situation," health minister of the Ugandan governtment Christine Ondoa said.

Over the past years, Uganda has been plagued with Ebola strain of virus. News of the outbreak will result to hundreds of people fleeing to hospitals to get medication and avoid the haemorrhagic fever.

Ebola is a very deadly fever, which can render a person dead in just a matter of hours without medication.
"Whenever there is contact between man and the reservoir of Ebola then you get the first case," WHO official Miriam Nanyunja said.

The report of US-based Centres for Disease Control and Prevention described symptoms of Ebola including "fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat and weakness, followed by diarrhoea, vomiting, and stomach pain. A rash, red eyes, hiccups and internal and external bleeding may be seen in some patients."
