New York - According to the Associated Press, Disney Studios' 'Wreck-It Ralph' has topped the Box Office, amidst devastation of Hurricane Sandy on New Jersey and New York coasts, with a whopping $19.1 million earning.

Wreck-It Ralph is about a video game villain trying to repaint his reputation. The newest animated cartoon production of Disney returns the biggest earning it its first week on the big screen.

Capitalizing on the destruction of Sandy, movie theaters of New York and New Jersey already reopened by weekends to give distraction and diversion for families haunted by the impact of Hurricane Sandy.

"We didn't really have a playbook for this," Paul Dergarabedian, a box office analyst for Hollywood.com. "But the numbers show that audiences across the country, and particularly in the Northeast, wanted to go to the movies and they did."

"Wreck-It Ralph' became something of a distraction and an opportunity for families to do something separate of the storm," Dave Hollis said. "Schools being shut down on Friday also played a role as parents were looking for things to entertain the kids and keep them out of the cold."

On the other hand, Paramount's 'Flight' has been greatly devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Heavy drama movies like the 'Flight' depends on the New York City market, which have not recovered by the bashing of Sandy. But still, Denzel Washington can still open big for the big screen, to take $25 million for 'Flight'.

"When you look up his filmography," Harris said, "it doesn't matter whether it was yesterday or 20 years ago — Denzel opens movies."

The domestic gross box office toppers are:

2. "Flight," $25 million.
