As reported by Sussex Correctional Institution, Bodenwieser surrendered himself to the police and was arraigned. He was held in a bail of $250, 000, said the state attorney general.
Bodenweiser was investigated after state police received reports on possible sexual child abuse. The court documents submitted by the state prosecutor's office stated that he committed sexual child abuse from October 1987 to August 1990.
Bodenwieser has not given comments as of the writing of this news. He can't be reached through his phone.
To be recalled, Bodenweiser informed state Republican Party chairman John Sigler that he will be suspending his campaign, He later announced his official drop-out from the senatorial race.
Bodenweiser won the nomination against current Sen. Joe Booth. His nomination was backed by US Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell.
