According to Web MD, a great part of those who have bowel cancer are diagnosed to have a problem when they are admitted to hospitals.

Out of 31, 000 patients, 8, 000 individuals were diagnosed of cancer. Most of these cases are already acute that recovery is sometimes slim and impossible.

If the problem is diagnosed and treated earlier, the sufferer has 90 percent of survival. However, when the problem is diagnosed at its worst stage, the survival plummets to 6 percent only.

"It is deeply worrying that so many patients are being diagnosed as an emergency when we know that outcomes are worse," said the chief executive officer of Bowel Cancer UK Deborah Alsina.

"There is still more that needs to be done to raise awareness of the symptoms of bowel cancer and the need to address symptoms quickly. This must include targeting older people, women and those from deprived communities who have been shown to be the worst affected."

Emergency cases are more common on individuals 85 years old or above. 47 percent of emergency patients were diagnosed to have the problem, at the age of 85 years old or above. 28 percent of women emergency patients is higher compared to 22 percent of men.
