Russia's Luxury: $120K and a Mercedes to Sochi Gold Medalists

If you're an Olympian, Russia is the best place to be now. Russia just gave $120, 000 and a new Mercedes GL SUV to its gold medalists in the Sochi Games, silver medalists bagged $76, 000 plus a Mercedes ML, and bronze medalists received $52, 000 and a Mercedes GLK. These bonuses were provided by the Russian Olympians Foundation, which was founded in 2005 by Russian businessment.

This year's bonuses are the first. Last 2012, athletes who brought medals to Russian received new Audis, plus personal drivers!

While the United States also gave bonuses to its athletes through the United States Olympic Committee, their bonuses were little shy of Russia's. American athletes with gold received $25, 000; with silver, $10, 000; and $10, 000 for bronze medalists.

But perhaps, the most devastating win is Dario Cologna of Switzerland who had a pig, which he named "Sochi".
