Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom Park has reportedly charged up their one-day park pass up to $99, just a dollar shy of the mark. Well, last four months ago, Disney reached $95 for its entrance, so the price hike is not anymore a big deal.
Disney is not about haters and bashers that are complaining of Disney's preying attitude of parent's wallet. It is about the supply and demand. Even if Disney increased the park's pass to $95 last four months ago, there was still a steady climb of people flooding the theme park. This means that notwithstanding the cost, people would come. And Disney can charge still higher.
While the one-day park pass is quite high, Disney's pricing strategy follows a simple logic: spend more time with us and we will charge lower. However, if you cut it down, you would still be spending more for the entire Disney vacation.
With the still growing people visiting Disney, this price hike may not be the last. As Disney and Universal Studios fight with each other to win the market, price hikes probably skyrocket as the spring break and holidays are coming.
